Kolli Hills or Kolli Malai (Tamil: கொல்லி மலை) is a small mountain range located in central Tamil Nadu in Namakkal district of India. The mountains rise to 1300m and cover an area of approximately 280 km².
It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and Annas Fund are working with local groups to provide education and nutrition for the poorest people that exist on subsistence farming.
The main problem was that many of the parents have to travel for seasonal agricultural work and the children are with older family members left to attend a small school. The particular concern was the malnutrition of the children.
Thanks to a local women's self-help group who have taken on the responsibility of providing, food and nutritional education these children have now thrived.
The children are born to a tribe considered at the bottom of India's caste system.
